Juicy’s closing down its Wells Ave. location after 40 years due to its lease got lots of comments, from good memories to bad ones, including on our Facebook.
Photos and videos about the drag story hour going to the North Valleys proved highly divisive as well on our Instagram, sadly not surprisingly.
One attendee remembered how last year the Proud Boys menacingly showed up at an edition in Sparks, while Sparks PD looked on from afar:
@ourtownrenoSam was present at the stand-off with the Proud Boys last year June 26 at the Sparks library with one of them bringing a gun, and many of them shouting in a menacing way. Sam said that Sparks PD was hands off during the commotion and they didn’t help. They parked far from the site and watched. They also said that they had to drive two hours compared to their 10 minute drive home and change clothes because they were being followed by the Proud Boys.
