Sierra Stevens, @badnevadan on Instagram, who wrote and designed last year’s Our Town Reno zine made this graphic for us, as part of a pitch to become a regular designer for our pages, and up our visual game.
As Giving Tuesday approaches, and our fundraising reaches its end for 2024, we welcome any contributions which can be made tax deductible through the Mighty Cause website at https://www.mightycause.com/story/Ourtownreno
You can also upgrade to paid on our Substack if you haven’t already, become a monthly subscriber via the Our Town Reno Facebook or Biggest Little Streets Instagram, or make a one time payment via the @ourtownre Venmo.
These contributions help us pay for the production and printing of our yearly zine and the upkeep of our website. When we have extra, we can also pay special contributors, as we’ve done in the past with the formerly unhoused writing about their own experiences or becoming spot reporters for our pages. Â
Currently, we are finishing up a documentary on local food justice initiatives which we could enhance with the work of a local graphics artist and perhaps music from a local band.
If you believe in our style of journalism, from no holds barred, not afraid of powers that be, hyperlocal reporting, to looking into reader-prompted alerts and questions, to keeping an eye on helping the unhoused, other neighbors going through difficult times and those living in precarious situations, to promoting local businesses, artists and endeavors, all free and without any advertisements or external pressures, if you’re so inclined and a generous spirit, don’t hesitate to show your gratitude by sending a few dollars our way :)
And if you are interested in our reporting don’t forget to subscribe to our weekly Substack which has a recap of our recent reporting plus bonus content.Â
