Still Priced Out and Waiting for a J answer

The community is angrily awaiting a public explanation from Jacobs Entertainment and its Glow Plaza representatives as to why Saturday’s Fuego Latin Cultural Fest was abruptly cancelled.
A report on local television said an email was sent citing the risk of “gang-affiliation” and “community safety” concerns.
“We all were ready to go,” Claudia731 wrote on our Instagram. “Even my 8-year-old was very excited to listen to an amazing variety of music. My question would be, why cancel two days prior, when event was booked and had all permit to do event over six months prior? If J Resort did not want this event then why book it, why go to special events committee meetings and agree to have this event on their private property?”
The organizer is seeking legal guidance.
Earlier in the week, we posted about a resident featured in the New York Times who we had profiled in 2021 concerning her steep rent challenges. That also led to lively debates on our channels, after we asked how much of their income locals pay on rent.
“Just over 50 percent and I have cheap rent,” Tammy Foulks wrote. “Think about joining a Housing Union or forming a chapter so we can go from being atomized, disunited and complaining about this problem to creating the power to do something about it,” Alan Kirk wrote.
