You-All Did Much Better than Neptune’s Luminous Dance
A recap of recent Our Town Reno reporting plus bonus content.
With some prodding from a reader and reverse image searching, we identified the artists for this Jacobs Entertainment paid for sculpture as the LA-based Liquid PXL collective. Their specifications indicate it’s 12,000 pounds, made with 160 hand-bent 19-feet tall metal tubes and coated with a silvery powder finish to reflect the sunlight.
In text accompanying its inaugural reel, they also disclose its actual name: Neptune’s Luminous Dance.
We found Our Town Reno submitted names and descriptions much more apt. We received over a hundred of them so these are just a few of the brilliant submissions which got many likes or made us laugh. Let us know which ones resonate for you the most.
